homeland – Iraqi media circulated details of a shocking crime, where an Iraqi young man in Dohuk governorate killed his transgender brother, from male to female, by shooting him and throwing his body.
According to what the “rudaw” website mentioned regarding the details of the crime, the Dohuk Police Directorate announced the killing of a 23-year-old transgender youth at the hands of his brother, pointing out that the killer resides outside the Kurdistan Region.
The director of the “Mankeesh” district said that a body was found near the village of “Babukhki” in the sub-district, Dohuk governorate.
The murdered young man, according to the account of the district director, Brendar Dosky, was recently promoting his transformation from a boy to a girl through social networks.
He continued, explaining to Rudaw Network: “That is why his brother killed him.”
However, Dosky also stressed that this is preliminary information and needs detailed investigation, he said.
It was the family of the murdered young man, called (D.A), who reported to the police, today, that she had killed her son. It also informed security personnel of the whereabouts of the body, Dusky said.
Hemin Suleiman, a spokesman for the Dohuk police, said that no one has been arrested so far. Explaining that the killer resides outside the Kurdistan Region.
He pointed out that the killer went a few days ago to Dohuk governorate and went out with his brother and then killed him, adding that a file was opened for investigation into the incident in accordance with Article 406 related to the murder.
The body of the murdered young man was also transferred to the forensic medicine department for examination.
